Greg here: The windows are insulated and “Low E” as required by the City. They become passive solar collectors in the morning facing east. Double cell insulated blinds used when the sun has passed & at nite. Windows able to be open creating cross breeze in the summer eliminating the need to turn on the air conditioner, never have. Project now completed. Green items: well over 50% of materials reclaimed..doors, oak floor/trim, redwood deck, headers etc. Energy Star electronics/appliances/lights.

Well i can see nothing ‘green’? If anything less green! More windows, more heat loss!
Green would include extra insulation, power generators, such as solar or wind turbine. No mention of thermal rated windows? In fact no mention of any green energy saving methods?
Re your black ‘pipe’. that is not necessarily the case. Providing you cross power cables at 90 degree abgles so the cables have minimum cross sectional areas close you will be fine!
